I think this desk gives great bang for the buck. The wood is very pretty and just the right amount of thickness. The metal pieces are also thick, well made, and screw together smoothly. Although the directions are not the easiest to follow, a major plus is that they use the same size screw for almost everything. The only slight downside to this desk is that I did not realize the file drawer fits in sideways. To get into my files, I have to take out the whole (light, nicely sized) drawer and put it on top of the desk to sort through it. It's worth the trouble though, to have such a little desk that fits perfectly into my small room. I'm mentioning the downsides because everything is equal or better quality than the product description implies. I also find the whole thing quite attractive. The Vitolo Carved Dining Table has truly transformed my space. It is elegant, sturdy, and I’m so pleased with its design. It’s exactly what I was looking for!
